_As the bikers cross the finish line of the Tour de France, the winner is ecstatic and smiling. His friends and relatives are thrilled. He has overcome great obstacles to bike in this race and winning this race is the fulfillment of his childhood dreams. _ _"I'm so happy to be here," he tells the crowd, holding up the trophy with a smile on his face. "I could never have done this without the support of my friends and family. Without them, this would never have been possible." _The second place winner, the guy behind him, is smiling, too, but it's not the spontaneous smile of real happiness, it's a forced smile of defeat because he thought he would win. There's always next year, he thought.
